Jewish Chaplaincy & Hospice Program [read more]
Being in a hospital is often an isolating and difficult experience. If you or a friend or loved one is currently in a local hospital, please make sure that they have listed their religion as Jewish so that our Chaplaincy volunteers or Chaplain will know where to find them. Jewish Family Service is proud to bring the Jewish community to patients in hospitals of the Texas Medical Center and surrounding areas. Volunteers and Chaplains provide emotional and supportive care and Jewish spiritual presence to patience in their homes, nursing homes or assisted living facilities. For more information please contact Hope Lipnick, MA, LPC, Director of Houston Jewish Chaplaincy Program via email at hlipnick@mail.mdanderson.org.

Our programs include Mental Health First Aid (a training in recognizing, understanding and supporting those with mental illness), Touching the Heart (a teen text program offering ongoing messages of connection, resilience and hope), Sources of Strength (a teen led strength and resilience program), Bright Stars (an annual memorial service for those who have lost a loved one to a mental health fatality, overdose or suicide), mental health counseling, meditation, suicide prevention & protocol training, a range of support groups to address mental health needs across the age span, and speakers who address the full spectrum of mental health and wellness and a grief and bereavement guide for those who have lost a loved one to mental health or addiction. Let us support your well-being!
